Terms of Service | Namak - Your AI Kitchen Manager

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using namak.io and its associated services, including the Namak app and Namak Expert app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, do not use the services. Namak and Namak Expert are products owned and operated by Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd.

1.1 Our Applications

Namak: Our AI Kitchen Manager app for household users, available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Play Store). This app helps you manage your kitchen, plan meals, track inventory, and coordinate with your kitchen helpers.
Namak Expert: Our companion app for kitchen helpers and cooks who work for Namak users, available on Android (Play Store). This app allows kitchen helpers to view active meal plans and report missing inventory items.

1.2 Definitions

Users: Individuals using the Namak app for household kitchen management.
Experts: Kitchen helpers and cooks who work for Users and use the Namak Expert app to assist with cooking tasks.

2. Description of Service

2.1 Namak App (for Users)

Namak provides an AI-powered Kitchen Management platform designed for Indian households. Services include meal planning suggestions, automated coordination with kitchen helpers via vernacular voice/text, grocery inventory tracking, and the ability to share meal plan access with Experts via secure access tokens.

2.2 Namak Expert App (for Experts)

Namak Expert is a companion app that allows kitchen helpers and cooks to assist Users with cooking tasks. The app operates on a token-based access model without requiring account creation. Features include:

Viewing active meal plans (recipe names, cooking instructions, ingredients, quantities, and preparation steps)
Accessing recipe videos from web sources
Reporting missing inventory items via voice input (Hindi or English)

Namak Expert provides view-only access to meal plan information. Experts cannot modify User data, access User personal information, or perform any account management functions.

3. AI Disclaimer & User Responsibility

You acknowledge that Namak utilizes Artificial Intelligence to generate meal plans and cooking instructions. While we strive for accuracy:

Health & Allergies: You are solely responsible for ensuring that suggested meals meet your health requirements and allergy constraints.
Cooking Safety: Namak and Namak Expert provide suggestions, not supervised instruction. Users and Experts are responsible for safe kitchen practices.
Kitchen Helper Coordination: Namak and Namak Expert act as communication and coordination tools. We are not responsible for the actual performance or conduct of kitchen helpers.

3.1 Expert Access & Limitations (Namak Expert App)

If you are an Expert using the Namak Expert app, you acknowledge and agree that:

Token-Based Access: You access User data via a temporary access code/token provided by the User. You do not create an account with Namak.
Limited to One Household: Each access token is limited to one household at a time. You cannot use the same token to access multiple User accounts.
Revocable Access: The User who provided you with the access code can revoke your access at any time without notice.
Automatic Expiration: Your access token will automatically expire if the User deletes their Namak account.
View-Only Access: You can only view active meal plans and related recipe information. You cannot access User personal information, modify User data, or change any account settings.
Inventory Reporting Only: The only action you can perform beyond viewing is reporting missing inventory items via voice input.
No Data Ownership: You do not own or have any rights to the User data you access through Namak Expert.

3.2 User Responsibilities for Expert Access (Namak App)

If you are a User who grants Expert access via the Namak app, you acknowledge and agree that:

Code Sharing Responsibility: You are solely responsible for deciding whom to share your access code with. Perform your own due diligence before granting access to any kitchen helper or cook.
Access Management: You are responsible for managing Expert access, including revoking access when necessary (e.g., when a kitchen helper is no longer working for you).
Code Security: You are responsible for keeping your access codes secure and not sharing them with unauthorized individuals.
Data Sharing Awareness: You understand that Experts will be able to view your active meal plans, including recipe names, instructions, ingredients, and preparation steps.
No Liability Transfer: Granting Expert access does not transfer any liability to Namak/Seigo Labs for the Expert's conduct, performance, or use of the information.

4. User Accounts & WhatsApp Usage

For Users (Namak App):

You may be required to register using your phone number to receive WhatsApp notifications. You agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the security of your communication channels and your account credentials.

For Experts (Namak Expert App):

You do not create an account with Namak. Your access is token-based and temporary. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the access code provided to you by the User. Do not share access codes with others.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on namak.io, including software code, UI design, logos, and AI-generated workflows, is the exclusive property of Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our services, including but not limited to food spoilage, errors in grocery ordering, communication misunderstandings with kitchen helpers, unauthorized access by Experts, data misuse by Experts, or any conflicts between Users and Experts.

6.1 Employment & Relationship Disclaimers

Important Notice: Namak and Namak Expert are purely coordination and communication tools. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that:

Not an Employment Platform: Namak/Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd is NOT an employment platform, staffing agency, or recruitment service. We do not facilitate hiring, employment, or contractual relationships between Users and Experts.
No Employment Relationship with Experts: No employment, contractor, or agency relationship exists between Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd/Namak and any Expert using the Namak Expert app. Experts are not employees, contractors, or agents of Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd.
No Employment Facilitation: We do not facilitate, create, or manage any employment or contractual relationship between Users and Experts. Any such relationship exists independently of our services.
User Due Diligence: Users are solely responsible for conducting their own background checks, verification, and due diligence before hiring or engaging any kitchen helper or cook. We do not verify, vet, or endorse any Expert.
No Responsibility for Expert Conduct: We are not responsible for the conduct, performance, reliability, quality of work, or any actions taken by Experts. This includes but is not limited to cooking quality, food safety, theft, damage, or any other conduct.
No Responsibility for Conflicts: We are not responsible for any disputes, disagreements, or conflicts between Users and Experts, including but not limited to payment disputes, work quality issues, or termination of working relationships.
Data Access Tool Only: The Namak Expert app is solely a tool for granting limited, revocable access to meal plan information. It does not create any obligations, warranties, or liabilities on the part of Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd.

6.2 Liability Limitations for Expert Access

Specifically regarding Expert access through Namak Expert, Seigo Labs Pvt Ltd is not liable for:

Any misuse of User data by Experts
Unauthorized sharing of meal plan information by Experts
Any actions taken by Experts based on the meal plan information they access
Any damages resulting from User's decision to grant or revoke Expert access
Any technical issues preventing Expert access to meal plans
Any disputes regarding access codes or access permissions

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Update Note (February 7, 2026): These Terms of Service have been updated to include coverage of our new Namak Expert app for kitchen helpers and cooks. The update includes Expert access terms, User responsibilities for code sharing, and employment disclaimers clarifying that Namak is not an employment platform.
